Below you'll find common error messages, including possible solutions.


Isolation Fault


In case of an isolation fault, there is a leakage of DC-current to the earth wire. This can for example happen when cables or connectors are damaged, loose and/or too moist. This can be caused by an installation fault but can also have other causes. Isolation faults happen in general more often in autumn and winter, in wet conditions. Sometimes the isolation fault disappears automatically when weather conditions get dryer. It can also help to check the residual current device. If however the isolation fault doesn't disappear and/or the residual current device keeps on switching off, please contact us. Often, a service visit will be necessary. At this visit is can also be determined whether or not the service falls under warranty.


Grid Lost Fault


A 'grid lost fault' message means that the inverter doesn't receive voltage from the fusebox and/or PV-divider. Please check whether the PV-group in the fusebox or PV-divider is switched off. If this is the case, try to flip this switch back on. If this is possible, then there is no longer a problem and the inverter should start producing again.


Does the switch directly turn off again? Or was this switch never turned off? Then please contact us.


Grid Volt Fault


In case of a 'grid volt fault', the voltage of the electricity grid is outside of the range of the inverter. Due to an increasing number of PV-systems, a rising grid voltage to values above 253V will occur more often. In this case, the inverter will automatically switcht off for safety reasons. When the grid voltage has decreased enough, the inverter will start up again.


If this error message appears often, it is important for Sungevity to know at which voltage this happens. On most inverters, it is possible to view the grid voltage on the display (after browsing through the menu options). Please provide us with pictures of the voltage taken during an outing, caused by a grid voltage fault. With this, we can assess whether it is a problem for the grid operator or whether there might be something we can adjust to the settings or the cabling. In case the outing occurs with voltages above 253V, there is unfortunately nothing Sungevity can do to prevent this. We advise you to contact your grid operator to help you out.
